Dr. Phil; This is my 1st x writing you at all or anyone to make acomment. I’m probably not in the right place; my comment is on 11-8-07 show. The mother-in-law one. I have been there. my son has not talked to me for nearly 10 years! The pain is incredible and I sympathize with the mom. Like her I have the support of my family. After my son was married my late husband and I flew them up for a visit; in one of our bathrooms my son called me in to talke to me and he was actually in tears streamimg down his face; because his wife told him she did not want him to even talk to me. Everybody who knew us know we were very very close. The wife to be has to remember that who she is marrying is a result of just how good his mother raised him. His qualities his whole personna reflects how good of a job his mom did in raising him. She should be so happy that he had such a wonderful mom. It is said that before you get married; observe how your fiance’ treats his mom; dad; his intire emmediate family and his extended family; how he treats animals; how he reacts to sesitive sictuations. Because what he is a reflection of all those things. We all put our best foot forward in the beginning; but the little things that bug us and we snuff it off later after marriage comes back and becomes a big thing. The couples fights no doubt will include what happened on your show. The bride to be did not show any compassion or a willingness to get a long with her future mother-in-law. She will only show more of her ugly signs of her personality after the marriage. He will be controlled by this controlling women. Her mother seemed very passive and afraraid to say anything that would make her daughter mad. It appears she has a very bad temper. At least her mother-in-law showed who she really is and hid nothing. I hope the mother can move on. She may need coulseling because it becomes as though your son is no longer living. The living dead. And it is extremely painfull. Thank-you Shawnayea
